In February. 2002, Silicon United Manufacturing Corp. aquired the silicon wafer business from Sumitomo Metal Industries Corp., merged with Mitsubishi Materials Silicon Corp. and changed its trade name into Sumitomo Mitsubishi Silicon Corp., at the same time.
