Greetings

It is an honor to address you. I am Jiro Ryuta. I took office as the new president of SUMCO Corporation on March 27th.
First, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to you and all our stakeholders.

I would also like to take this opportunity to share a few words as I step into my new role at SUMCO.
I am committed to driving SUMCO’s growth into a new era with a sincere, dedicated mindset, as we build on the technological capabilities and the robust relationships of trust with our customers cultivated over our many years in business.

In navigating the rapidly changing semiconductor industry with agility and flexibility, we root our management approach in the SUMCO Vision.

The first component of this vision is the “World’s Best in Technology.”
Through sustained, focused investments in research and development, we will further sharpen our competitive edge in advanced fields and quickly give shape to the performance and quality that our customers expect.

Second is “Stable Profitability Even During Economic Downturns.”
In addition to transforming our production operations into a framework that stands up to demand fluctuations, we will implement disciplined management with a strong focus on capital efficiency and cash flow.

Third, we also strive to “Empower Employee Awareness of Profit.”
Firm in the belief that our people are the source of our corporate value, we will enhance our efforts to develop employees, conduct assessments appropriately, and provide people with opportunities to take on challenges as part of our efforts to establish an even more open, empowering organizational culture.

And the fourth element is “Competitiveness in Overseas Markets.”
We will deepen our collaborative connections with customers around the world and support the global semiconductor industry through our ability to deliver a stable supply of high-quality offerings.

In addition, we are committed to achieving both profitability and sustainability through a balanced approach: While we push efforts to reform our business structure and strengthen our capabilities in advanced domains, we will also select priority areas on which to focus our resources in mature domains. Positioning safety, the environment, and compliance as the foundation of management, we will continue to conduct responsible business operations as a company that society can trust.

With integrity and determination, we will continue to engage with all our stakeholders and do everything in our power to take SUMCO’s corporate value to new heights.
